The “diet hack” age brings old school structure and discipline back into the ring. Dieters need something they can trust and 7 days on the potato diet revealed to me a sad sack more than a savvy renegade.
I wanted to post a new blog, not just an update detailing that I did NOT lose ANY weight doing the “Potato Hack.” It really helped my digestive issues. I no longer have digestive issues. Anyone who had to take medication for a while might re-balance the gut with this simple diet. You can then re-introduce foods to see what the culprit is. This is the easiest way to find out if you have a food intolerance. Most people can’t take time off of work or leave their kids just to go find out if they have Crohn’s Disease. It’s almost a luxury. I know that pretty much every medication I’ve ever taken has messed up my gut biome. So just a quick note here that it doesn’t seem to me, after doing this diet for an entire week, that you lose any WEIGHT. I’m back on Paleo. I really want to be vegan but I’m not 22 anymore. Back when I could eat whatever I wanted, vegan worked for me. Right now I’ve been through a hell of a winter. I’ve put on weight from consistently spiked cortisol. So until everything is under control I’m doing the tried and true Paleo Diet. Usually when I’ve put in a solid 4 months on this diet I see major restructuring of my body. Here’s what you need to know about the Paleo Diet:
Start out Keto the first 3 days (less than 20 carb grams per day). If that’s too complicated do a fast. You really need to start out in ketosis.
Keep your carbs under 60 grams per day. 60 is actually a lot if all you eat is meat, egg whites, and veggies.
Every 2-4 hours eat 2-4 oz of protein with roughage such as broccoli, mixed veggies, asparagus, or a greens salad with oil and vinegar.
Drinking is not allowed…but everyone does it. If you drink don’t eat carbs that day. Just eat chicken breast or egg whites. Boil the eggs and then throw the yolks away or give them to your dogs. Your dogs will literally be obsessed with you after this diet.
Don’t over-train. Get the diet down. Keep your activity level the same. If you’d been sedentary do long walks or 20 min of cardio/weight training 2 or 3x per week. Otherwise your body is going to store fat like never before PLUS you’ll be starving constantly. Our bodies can work against us, or they can work for us. The key is knowing that our bodies have our best interests at heart always. So be kind to them! If your body thinks that all of a sudden you’re building pyramids and being starved, it’s going to try to help you by saving you some fuel for later. And it will also let you know that, “Hey, we should eat just in case…”
Results aren’t incremental. You might not lose ANY weight the first 3 weeks. It takes 21 days to form a new habit. The Paleo Diet is all about letting your body know that a lil bit of food is coming, but it’s for sure coming and it should be expected.
Eventually you will feel no hunger…except maybe at night. I lost a ton of weight doing Paleo and I still got up in the middle of the night every single night and ate a banana with peanut butter shmeared all over it. If you really only eat meat, egg whites and veggies, you can eat a banana with peanut butter in your sleep and be at around 60 carbs.
Flavoring food is pointless after a while. Who cares if your plain chicken has salt on it? Food isn’t about pleasure anymore when you do this diet after a while. It’s a pain in the ass. You think, “I have to eat AGAIN.” Salt is allowed, but why bother? It’s just keeping you back from your goals. The potassium from the nightly banana actually helps keep your electrolytes in check. So if you do eat salt the banana might help. Or you can have an avocado here and there. But boiling or baking everything with no added flavor (including salt and pepper) is what’s known as “eating clean.” This is what all body builders and beauty pageant contestants do before an event. Some people live their whole lives this way! Flavor stuff with a lemon. You’ll thank me one day.
Don’t give up. It takes 4 months to really SEE a difference. There will be one day when you get up and look in the mirror and it all miraculously comes together. You LOOK amazing, no matter what the scale says. We’re restructuring our bodies and metabolisms here. Stop worrying about your weight. If you stick to the Paleo Diet for 4 months you will see results you’ve never experienced before. That is the TRUTH.
In the multitudes of times that I’ve done this diet, I DID fall off the wagon. I did eat an entire carton of Ben n Jerry’s and hate myself in the morning. I did go to Venice Beach and drink 12 margaritas cantina hopping on beach crusiers. I did take Xanax here and there to avoid banana nights.
If you fall off, get back on. Don’t ever beat yourself up. It’s often the times that we’re doing the most that we punish ourselves the most. You’re amazing! See this diet as a new habit. It’s putting structure into your life that we ALL need. There will be one thing EVERY DAY that you can count on. It’s that you have 6 meals (prepared ahead of time) that are making you better. You’re in control. Think about the power that comes from that.
Hopefully your appearance will be so far out of mind that the day that you realize that you’ve lost 20 lbs (anticipated weight loss in 4 months) you’ll be onto some other goal. You’ll probably be training for a competition of some sort or trying to perfect the upper back part of your shoulders. Who knows. The second that you stop fixating about anything the easier that it flows into your life.
Energy is like a lion. To tame it and truly have power over it you have to truly love and respect it. You have to speak kindly to it and respect its boundaries. Don’t be too demanding. Don’t have selfish goals in mind. If energy knows that you have the interests of empowerment, discipline, spectacle and pride in mind, it will work FOR you. You will be the master of the circus that is our universe. Happy New Moon by the way. Go be the greatest show on earth!
Beauty is pain. We’ve all heard this. And life is pain. The reason behind both is a simple philosophic calculation:
If Beauty = Pain
And Life = Pain
Then Beauty = Life
The pain behind beauty is learning discipline. When we are off balance you can see it. It reveals itself in the quality of our hair, in our body latching onto water and fat, and in the actual physical proportional manifestation of our features. When an individual is said to be crooked, they are off balance. Characters with noses that jut off to one side may play the villain in movies. Conversely it’s difficult for us to find evil in someone aesthetically lovely. If a person has kind eyes but they’re a little wily, we somehow forgive them much easier than someone who on the outside appears as if he or she has no self respect.
I notice that the more difficult my life becomes, and the more that I feel challenged on a minute-to-minute basis, the more my features coordinate into symmetry. I noticed this first when I did the lemon cleanse for three days in 2013. My face had become puffy and detoxing was an emotional roller coaster. There was also physical hunger. At the end of the fast I ate this organic farmer’s market salad and felt as if it were sacrilegious. It was so delicious! The pictures from this time, when I put myself together and got out there, were beautiful! We appreciate beauty in things that we work hard for.
Putting in effort despite any immediate payoff is also respected by others. When you put in hard work toward building your physique, home, or family there is a gigantic payoff when beauty emerges from it. Any creation of beauty through struggle results in an immense beauty that we could not have created without the struggle. That tension goes into the work, if it’s art. Tension in our faces or muscles keeps the skin taut. Less consumption makes you light. Discipline makes everything easier…by making it harder. There is a respect that comes from others when they see that what beauty you have in your life was CREATED by YOU!
We need to understand that we are here to learn. When your soul was a part of the unified spirit, you knew everything! You had no wants, no desires. Your job here is to have a human experience. You need to find out what your purpose is because nothing will fulfill you until that time in which it dawns on you what you are here to CREATE. Most of us find this calling and then it cannot be ignored or denied. No matter how much we try to do something else, once you ignite your soul purpose (north node will give insight to this) it becomes this monster of its own.
For me, my soul purpose involves creating. It involves art and it involves astrology. Through times when I had the least guidance I had to look within. Everything outside felt wrong. I knew that I didn’t belong fitting into a mold that caused disharmony in my soul. That’s when I took on a mission to find this tension in others. To make it feel at peace, even for a moment. No matter the discomfort involved, being inauthentic is no longer an option for me because it’s detrimental to people LIKE me! If I let myself bend toward a way of existence that does not fit my inherent gut vibe of balance, I will forever be medicated. I will forever be false.
Before I understood my sensitivity as a strength, I suffered in other people’s worlds. Now I know where my peace is. I know where I’m centered. And now I know what to play with when I need some adjusting. That’s the amazing thing about astrology. It’s a chart from the heavens that explains EXACTLY the energies going on at the moment so you can identify difficult aspects and instead of triggering those, strengthen the BENEFICIAL aspects!
Negative aspects in astrology are simply warnings. It’s like a warning from your body. If your upper back is hurting from tension, you likely need to strengthen your lower back and core. You need to support areas of tension by strengthening the integral whole. If I am prone to having a messy home, I ABSOLUTELY MUST have a clean home for my life to be structured. Look at wherever you struggle. Look at what you don’t want to do on a daily basis. This is what you NEED to do to be ready for the inevitable changes in the weather. In the back scenario, it could be that an injury is in your 6th house potential. When igniting your inner warrior, however, and hopping on a fitness plan that balances out your entire life you may hop tracks and end up on a harmonious path of health. Maybe the maladies that could have come to you will instead be maladies that you help others overcome.
Instead of dealing with daily anxiety in not knowing what your path will be, you can take action and became stronger. You create a routine. You meet people along the way. You may look amazing in a way that you never had before from all of the discipline. Gaining the respect of others leads to new opportunities. It opens doors. You will always find doors open when you choose the more difficult path. The easy path, the one where you get something for free, results in a bunch of hiccups that you didn’t expect. You have to take control of your destiny or it will take control of you. That doesn’t sound very fun!
Identify right now physical ailments. That’s your first big task because those ailments have gotten so out of hand that they’re showing up causing physical pain. Deal with these. Take a sick day if you need to. Do nothing and find deep within you what feels wrong. How is this exposing itself in disharmony in your body? Upper back pain could be from sitting all day in a chair in front of a light box. Overstimulated in certain ways but under-stimulated in others.
The lifestyle that we’re living is not conducive to inner and outer health. Everyone is medicated. If you’re not, you’re actually the exception. It was mind boggling when I learned this. If you get to know enough people pretty well, they’ll let you know that you’re not alone. We hide so much from each other and this prevents us from growing as a community. Companies that embrace wellness and incorporate a fun atmosphere, positive reinforcement, and opportunities for health and leisure are rewarded with a creative, motivated staff that works as a team.
Sometimes making a change is not an option, or doesn’t appear to be. A lot of times we get wound up into a tight spot that gives us no way out. Say you’re working 9-5 with a job that you need to support your family and keep your home. That’s a pretty common scenario. Then all of a sudden there’s a break. If you don’t take it the universe has a way of showing you that SOMETHING’s got to give! I used to sell gym memberships at an elite gym in West Hollywood. One of our selling points was to explain to people who object with, “I need to worry about my family first,” that they cannot support their family if they themselves are not whole. If your ship is sinking you have no way of pulling up others in the same scenario. When you take time for peace and make yourself look and feel great you’ll reward those around you by not meddling too much, and also by really listening to what they need. They will take cues from you and become whole themselves. It’s all about energy. Really learning to diffuse and re-direct energy.
In work scenarios, I notice that people get disharmoniously involved in the work atmosphere. If you’re at work and everyone’s going out as a group but you don’t enjoy being around them, politely excuse yourself. There’s only so much work you can deal with. Plus it’s best that your colleagues don’t know the inner workings of your soul and life anyway. Think of them as competitors. You didn’t see Conor McGregor hanging out bro-style with Floyd Mayweather before their fight. Work is all about competition. Anything you say can and will be used against you. Keep your game face on at work. Use your breaks to re-center. After work is all about YOU time. If you have to go home to an annoying family, I definitely would join a gym. I love the solitude of getting on the elliptical and listening to gangster rap about shooting people. It makes me not fantasize about it in real life.
Okay that escalated quickly. Back to zen and tranquility…
I just honestly got off center thinking about office life and trying to find balance in that scenario. To cool off I went and made coffee. I’m looking out over the trees at my AirBnb here in Costa Rica while I hear Adele playing somewhere within the canopy. It’s beautiful! The beauty is what we need more of. Put an orchid or peace lily on your desk and maybe a little fountain with rocks underneath the desk. Get a gigantic rose quartz and leave it out in the sun to cleanse and charge all weekend when you’re off then have it radiate loving energy to your heart all week at work. Drink Synergy Kombucha. Watch a Russell Brand YouTube video on break. Self-publish something amazing you did today. Something that you’re truly proud of. These things always help me when I can’t control a tense external situation.
No matter how zen your life is there’s always going to be tension. We are here to learn. When we stop learning there is always misery or a catalyst that leads to more learning. This is why we should always understand ourselves and the energy around us. This truly gives us the advantage in gracefully hopping to an anticipated landing spot. Don’t expect to land for long though. You’re going to be moving along your whole entire life unless you’re supporting others who are moving. Depending on how big of a masochist you are, your difficulty level was decided before you embarked on this journey! Isn’t that amazing? YOU chose to experience a difficult existence or an easy one. It’s really no different than playing a video game. Do you want a game that you can beat and then move on to the next game? Do you want a game that you can never beat but just keep learning the deeper intricacies and hacks? Or do you want to play Tetris? All day…everyday. Dink…dink…pshew pshew pshew.
Some of us chose games that can’t be beaten in this lifetime. Games that we want to inspire for any subsequent incarnations, or until there is no more game. Is this all in my head? Did I make this whole thing up and if so, are the other players simply bots in my game? I hate it when my allegories become literal. If it’s my game, and I know the difficulty level, then I’m pretty sure I’m ready for another go at elimination and creation. I have only a backpack with me going into my next level. The elimination portion is leaving behind any tools that will not serve me in this next level and the creation is of course about creating enough beauty around me to make the heightened skill level as enjoyable as possible while dealing with challenges I’ve never seen before. Like attracts like. If you want to see beauty you have to make yourself beautiful. If you want to make money you have to spend money. It’s not fair! I know…but I didn’t choose Tetris either.

I’ve tried many diets, both vegan and diets including meat. I did a lot of low-carb diets that left me craving more. I have experimented with vegan options that would not cause digestive issues. It was hard for me to find anything to eat when I couldn’t tolerate gluten. In both of these cases I have discovered that resistant starches offer an answer. They are satisfying. Anyone who has had trouble with digestion or bloating in the past knows that comfort foods are what you want to eat. Potatoes are a comfort food and with my preparation methods you can enjoy them without the traditional side-effects. This easy, 3-day meal prep plan can help you even out your system while enjoying some really satisfying traditional meals that many of us have avoided for years! Hope this helps.
3 – 5 lb bags of potatoes
1 – 2 lb bag of lemons
2 – Cans/jars sauerkraut
2 – Jars pickled beets
Large bottle Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar with The Mother
Mayo, Vegenaise, or Miracle Whip
Vegan or regular sour cream (option for baked potatoes)
Earth Balance or non-vegan butter
Flavoring such as Himalayan Salt, Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric, Garlic, Onion etc
Garlic, fresh or minced (option for mash)
Soy, coconut, almond or regular milk (or other for mashed potatoes)
3 – Large Grapefruits
Diet Ginger Beer (option for snacks)
Raw, unflavored almonds or walnuts
Meal prep containers (2 compartment + separate small side dish)
3 – Gt’s Synergy Organic Kombucha “Trilogy” (option for lunches)
3 gallons of store brand Alkaline Water or Distilled Water
Meal Prep Instructions:
Fill two large pots with water and a heaping pinch of Himalayan Sea Salt in each. Be sure that you don’t overfill the pots with water. I do this frequently. Leave enough room to add the potatoes without spillover. When the water boils add as many potatoes from the 3 bags as you can, dividing them up between the two pots. You can use the rest for snacks and boil them later.
Boil potatoes so they are rare to medium rare. Don’t overcook them. You want them slightly firm. The key to this diet is to LET THE POTATOES COOL completely before eating them. After boiling strain out the water and put 5-7 potatoes to the side to make mashed potatoes. Throw the rest in a large glass bowl and pop it in the refrigerator.
If you have any potatoes left you can boil these now. After cooking, keep 3 whole cooked potatoes in a bowl in the refrigerator to make baked potatoes for dinners. The rest (if there are any) will just be extras that you can keep in the fridge to snack on between meals.
Mashed Potatoes (hot)
While still hot mash up the 5-7 warm potatoes that you set aside with a fork, mixer, masher, or other. Add in your butter, milk, parsley, salt, pepper, cayenne, turmeric etc. There are many vegan mashed potato recipes online if you need inspiration.
They key is to allow the potatoes to cool once. This alters the structure of the starch molecule and makes it indigestible. It then moves through your small intestines to your large intestines in tact. Once it reaches the colon the body ferments the the potatoes. This creates butyrate and is what is going to heal your digestive tract.
Fermented foods are natural probiotics. That’s why we’re adding beets and sauerkraut for added flavor to dishes.
Lemon and vinegar are used because they are acidic and help to heal a stomach that may have trouble in the initial stages of digestion. Food then moves into the small intestines where it becomes alkaline. I think that antacids are counter-intuitive to the true mechanism behind the digestive system and actually lead to many more issues in the future.
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory that works synergistically with black pepper. I recommend putting it in the potato salad to give it a little color.
Dish the mashed potatoes into individual fridge-safe (and microwave safe) covered containers and put them into the refrigerator to cool.
Potato Wedges (cold)
Take out half of the potatoes left that had been cooling. Slice the potatoes up as potato wedges, cubes, fries or however you like them.
When you slice them cool they stay in tact better.
Drizzle apple cider vinegar over the sliced potatoes. Squeeze a whole lemon over the top. Add some salt, pepper and cayenne pepper for flavor.
Option: Slice up some pickled beets and throw them on top. They will turn your potatoes red but enhance the flavor. They will also aid your liver enzymes in breaking down fats that you’re adding in preparation.
Put aside. You will be combining these potato wedges with the potato salad (below) in the food prep containers. You will then put these into the refrigerator for your meals.
Potato Salad (cold)
Chop the remaining cooled potatoes up into cubes. You can remove the peel if you want or leave it. Add Mayo, Vegenaise or Miracle Whip. There are all sorts of flavors now if you’re vegan. Jazz the potato salad up however you like.
Add some chives, salt, pepper, turmeric, mustard, cayenne, or whatever else you like on your potato salad.
ToGo Meal Prep for Lunch:
Put your two cold potato salads next to each other into medium containers that have lids. They can be divided if you prefer. Put the mashed potatoes into their own small containers so you can heat those up separately from the cold potato salads. Put the lids on and put the prepped potatoes into the refrigerator.
I recommend trying this diet for 3 days to reset your digestive tract. You can have the extra potatoes plain as snacks between meals. Eat them cold and as many as you want. You can also make them into other creations, such as baked potatoes for dinner.
Option: Put a Synergy Kombucha in with your lunch each day and some extra plain potatoes for snacks. Bring a lemon with you to squeeze onto the plain potatoes. You can keep them at your desk throughout the day.
Idea: Have hot water or tea, plain or with lemon, at work. This is AMAZING for getting your lymph system moving. The largest collection of lymph vessels is in the gut area so generally this EXTREMELY important system is affected by any digestive issues. It may even be responsible.
Sipping some hot water throughout the day sends a surge each time through your lymph system. This is what eliminates edema. So if your digestive issues have caused you to bloat, I would definitely recommend drinking warm water (from the red spout on the water or coffee machines) throughout the day.
You can have hot water with lemon, tea, black coffee, and grapefruit for breakfast. Do not eat grapefruit if you are taking any medications! Find out first if it’s contraindicated.
Idea: Boil a small pot of water with a whole lemon sliced in half in the water. Drink the hot lemon water.
This was recommended to me at one of those expensive weight loss centers. Doing this first thing in the morning is really great for losing weight!
Grapefruit, sauerkraut, raw unflavored almonds and walnuts, Diet Ginger Beer, and cold potatoes with lemon and apple cider vinegar.
Greens salad with garbanzo beans, cucumber, lemon and apple cider vinegar
Diet Ginger Beer or water
Small glass of hot lemon water or caffeine-free ginger tea

Update: I stayed in an AirBnB in the middle of nowhere for a week and ate nothing but potatoes. I slept very well and my digestive issues went away. This gallery shows potatoes many ways. I enjoyed them most with lemon or lime, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
After studying Feng Shui, Eastern Medicine, Holistic Medicine, and even Astrology, I’ve applied different techniques in my own life as a sort of trial and error. Being predisposed to catching pneumonia and having had a severe case of bronchitis as an adult, I can recognize the chest pressure and fluid-filled lungs that signify onset of these two potentially debilitating illnesses. I thought that I’d share a little about my experiences with these common winter illnesses, explain how to identify their onset, and how to treat the initial symptoms before you end up seeking medical care, missing work, and potentially ending up on some hard-core antibiotics. Raise your vibration and save the meds for when you REALLY need them.
A quick side note: Because of my history with antibiotics I developed a case of resistant, systemic bacteria twice in my life. One was MRSA from a spa and the other was Pseudomonas from the beach. After these experiences I am keen on re-building my immune system. I think that moderate exposure to germs in everyday life is okay. I don’t overly sanitize my hands or avoid public places. I worked from home for the last year and am now re-entering the workplace in flu season. The doctor at my recent checkup offered me the flu and pneumonia vaccines for this season and I declined. Hopefully my methods are going to keep my resilience up but nothing is guaranteed in this life as we all know.
When I got bronchitis as an adult I had a fever of 104 and missed an entire week of work. My family had come to visit be in Las Vegas, where I was living at the time. I was unable to do anything with them. I remember my mom and brother sitting on the couch in the living room of the house where I was living with my roommate and his dog. The rest of the week I just remember being in bed. I was completely out of commission. Identifying bronchitis vs pneumonia is essential in seeking treatment as bronchitis is often environment related at the beginning. Being exposed to allergens such as smoke and dust can lead to irritation and a build up in the mucous membranes of the lungs. This provides an environment where bacteria can flourish. They’ll move in and tell all of their friends. At that point you’ll need the antibiotics and be in the sort of shape where I ended up when I was working in the smoke-filled casinos. Bronchitis can also result after having the cold and flu viruses. If it does you will likely end up on antibiotics because the inflammation from the primary illness causes secondary bronchitis which is bacterial. This is why it’s important to take measures at the first signs of illness. This can prevent your illness from developing.
Growing up I had pneumonia at least seven times. I had major issues related to having a diaphragmatic hernia and the pneumonia was likely related to a weakened immune system and a collapsed lung. I remember being on amoxicillin and penicillin a lot. I remember liking the bubblegum flavored medicine. Unfortunately the exposure to antibiotics early on may have built up a resistance to dangerous strains as I experienced as an adult. Prevention is key, but once the onset of pneumonia is realized it is often necessary to treat with antibiotics.
Both illnesses give that heavy lung feeling and pressure in the chest. It’s not a raspy feeling, which can actually be good. It’s a sign that the mucous is ready to start releasing on its own. When you feel the pressure, however, with no sign of relief, you could be gearing up for a long endeavor and should try everything in your power to prevent further onset. Raise your vibration and get your environment in optimal order.
First line of attack: Clean out the lungs
As my telltale symptoms started coming on last week with the minus 35 degree windchill (yes, Farenheit), I started with putting hydrogen peroxide into a vaporizer. The thought behind this is that hydrogen peroxide is used to clean wounds. Pneumonia and some types of bronchitis are treated with antibiotics. I figure the way to topically treat the lungs as if they were wounded would be to breathe something that kills bacteria, like hydrogen peroxide. I’m still mobile so whatever was on-setting did not completely take hold. I started the hydrogen peroxide vapor to kill bacteria in my lungs when I breathe it in. If it works or if it doesn’t work could all be related to mind over matter, but in these instances it’s good to attempt SOMETHING instead of sinking into “I’m sick” mode. Then you will absolutely end up in the hospital.
Boost the frequency of your air with rose oil to up your immunity.
Rose has the highest frequency of most common essential oils. Raising your vibration will keep you out of the hospital. Use rose essential oil in your vaporizer too. I actually threw it in with my hydrogen peroxide and some alkaline water. I’m also reckless. But if you’re feeling wild you could mix them all together in one swift dose. Otherwise do them one at a time.
I haven’t researched the chemical reaction between peroxide and rose. Really, it could be amazing or it could result in something like when I put my vodka and cucumber in the Nutribullet with some lemon. EEK. It was like a sip of poison before I threw it out. Not sure what that was symbiotically but don’t ever blend those things together. Gross!
At the first sign of chest pressure or fever start Echinacea
I got some Zesty Orange Original Airborne this time because I like the added Vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals that have been pre-determined to work together harmoniously. Echinacea always stops colds and fevers for me if I catch them soon enough. Some people go for zinc in Zycam as their end-all illness remedy. Echinacea is what works for me so it must depend on what you’re pre-disposed toward. My old boss was obsessed with Zycam and had it stockpiled in the employee cabinets along with snacks and a fridge filled with every type of soda imaginable. He’s also a Gemini and I know that Gemini is on the opposite side of the zodiac from Sagittarius (which I proudly am). I figure that the zodiac signs more pre-disposed toward evil would do well with Zycam. Just kidding. I’m sure that there are Geminis out there with redeeming aspects to their charts. Maybe a moon in Taurus or Leo/Virgo rising? I have the best results with Echinacea. I’d really be interested to know who does better with Zycam and who does better with Airborne. Maybe Zycam is better for head issues like split personalities and a propensity toward extra-curriculars. I guess it’s none of my business.
Feng shui rules: Water evaporates with fire
Dry out the up air and clean up the low air. The use of the vaporizer on the ground helps to ignite the Qi, or life force in my being.
I took the glasses of water off of the night stands. Each night we would go to sleep with a glass of water on either side of the bed. I thought about the Feng Shui I learned while I was doing Real Estate and staging homes. You are never to put a picture of water above the level where water could physically reach on your body without compressed or hindered function. In Feng Shui this is essentially drowning yourself. That’s why it drives me nuts when I see Monet’s bridge paintings placed high. Good way to drown your business.
I thought also about the fact that my boyfriend and I are both fire signs. It makes sense that water puts out fire. The glasses of water were at the level of our faces and chests. We were essentially drowning, at least as I can see relating to Qi. I moved all water or liquid to a floor shelf across the room. The vaporizer was also on the floor and moistening the air with antibacterial and high vibration cold steam. I replaced the water glasses with a green or pink candle on either side of the bed.
I gave my boyfriend a yellow candle because I think he has a Solar Plexus issue, but I didn’t say that. He definitely needs a candle there instead of the water. And maybe a Tony Robbins CD. The candles seem to be helping our sleep and I’m not having symptoms with those in lieu of the water.
Buy crystals for healing.
I also suggest putting a carefully selected crystal, such as a selenite or rose quartz crystal, on either side of the bed for the purpose of clearing the heart chakra. At bed level with the candles. Drying out the vapor and igniting life force.
Selenite unblocks stagnant energy which would clear the chakras and allows the vapor to flow through the system. Selenite is cleansing to energy.
I would research your individual symptoms and figure out logically where your blockages are. For me, my heart chakra is the area that was feeling the impact. The heart chakra can also benefit from a large rose quartz.
The energy from these stones is easy to feel. You can hold a rose quartz and feel its charge. If you don’t feel energy from it it’s probably a dud. Or you’re a dud. But I’d try a different stone before admitting that. Because it’s important to find a real rose quartz, or citrine in my boyfriend’s case, I don’t recommend buying them online. That is, unless you are ordering on Etsy from a highly rated seller or with some sort of certification. There are a lot of fakes on the internet. A fake quartz stone has no effect, other than the placebo effect. Some stones are very rare to find in their authentic forms and even expensive.

Tea Time: Get some Manuka, Honey
We’ve been drinking tea with various herbs and put honey on everything. Honey has antimicrobial properties. Especially Manuka Honey.
I’ve been feeling better since doing these small changes. I have my energy back enough to be inspired to write a blog. That’s a big deal. Healing the soul is key in raising your vibration, which in turn eliminates illness. Keep rose oil around and use it in a diffuse or buy a rose candle to keep your environment vibrating high.
Also keep in mind your astrological chart. I am a fire sign so I need to dry out. I might be more pre-disposed to winter illnesses and fluid build up when not vibrating at optimal frequency. If you are a water sign or have other aspects in your chart you may benefit from other healing and wellness methods.
Final remarks: Astrology
Pay attention to where Mars sits in your chart. What house is it? What does that house determine? For me Mars is in the 12th house. This means that I’m fighting battles in my sleep. Mars is a hot planet so I feel that water by the bed makes me drown. The location of Mars in your chart can indicate where you experience troubles.
Keep an eye out for potential connections in your own life to blockages you may have experienced. What chakra may have been involved in your hardship? What caused this chakra to become blocked? What ended up clearing the blockage to release you from the burden? These are very important questions for understanding your own predispositions. Keep an eye out for common occurrences in your life. As my lungs have issues, perhaps you have trouble expressing yourself and it expressed in a thyroid issue. This is just an example. Or society beat you down too much and your liver gave out from self-imposed guilt drinking, and then your nervous system went haywire and every ailment you’ve ever had started hurting again. These are another example. The chart below is a great place to start in understanding chakras.
I’ll write more blogs on planets and predispositions. I’ve been studying these for a year now hard core. And I don’t hate water signs, they’re just a detriment to my personal health. It’s horrible recognizing that bias yet as essential as avoiding cobras.

This may be more important than you think. Apple seeds contain amygdalin which is reduced to cyanide in your blood. Because mother nature wouldn’t produce a negative without a positive, we can be assured that if you eat an apple and happen to eat some seeds with it, the other compounds in the apple (benzaldehyde and glucose) will bind with the cyanide and actually make something called laetrile which is also known as B17. This has long been thought to counteract cancer (according to holistic healthcare enthusiasts). Cyanide is in our drinking water anyway, so if you’re exposed to that you could possibly counteract it by just eating an apple a day as the old wives tale went. This is the same with apricots and peaches too. There are actually Eastern cultures where a man’s wealth is measured by the number of apricot trees he owns.
Note: Eat the seed…not the core. It’s inside the core. Sorry to confuse you. Look it up.
I’m not a chemist of course, so I don’t completely understand how the processes work. I just know that I was always worried about seeds when making juice. I knew that they had cyanide in them and was scared about dying. It turns out that drinking water is far more dangerous. As explained in my blog about cancer it’s important to maintain a balanced and healthy body free from poisons. The easiest way to do this is to get DISTILLED (not spring) water. Distilled water is reduced to it’s most essential molecular form, as we know as H2O. I do think that there is more to the “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” theory regardless. And do believe that seeds are involved…
2. White rice is the fountain of youth
White rice affects mitochondrial health. A grain of rice actually LOOKS like a mitochondrion. We can remember from biology class that mitochondria are essential to life forms and contain their own ancient DNA. Maybe this has something to do with collective unconscious…but I read way too much Jung.
So why does it make you Jung? [Sorry…not funny]
Aging is caused by a decline in mitochondrial function. The mitochondria make chemical energy called ATP. Or simply, they turn matter into energy. Remember Einstein? He talked about this a lot. Just trust me, mitochondria are important for anti-aging and rice has the blueprint.
Free radicals, among other things, damage macro molecules including the DNA in the mitochondria. This causes mutations in the mitochondrial DNA. If you slow down the damage to the DNA you delay aging. Mitochondrial damage IS reversible.

Why is it spiritual? It’s healing, which puts your body into balance. This enhances your intuitive senses.
You’ll probably start noticing face masks and various other products involving rice after reading this. That always happens when you become aware about something. Keep in mind that white rice is one of the most inexpensive and widely available staples all around the world! I would figure out how to make it at home if you want to do a face mask.
For a spiritual connection I have absolutely noticed that simply eating some plain, steamed white rice during the day before a meditation influences my connection to the experience. I feel light and open. The Dalai Lama eats rice all day. If you’re doing a fast maybe try breaking the fast with a bowl of white rice and waiting about an hour before eating anything else. Even simple intermittent fasting followed by white rice alone will be an interesting control for you as an experiment. See how you feel. Maybe this feeling is your connection to the cosmos!
I just made this up last night because frozen juice cans were on sale 10 for $10. I’m detoxing now but doing it in stages. Here are my self-created stages that could change at any time (links to blogs for more info):
Still eating sugar, butter, and mayo for example. Not really focusing on looking good. Still in the initial stages of detox. I feel that it’s easier to stick with this if you splurge with things like sugary lemonade instead of getting off course by going out drinking or eating pizza and burgers. I’m realizing that I really just like sugary drinks and that the fun of going out drinking was more about the fresh cocktails than the effects of the alcohol. I tested this by putting a box of white wine in my fridge. If I got the urge to drink I would have a glass of that. Bleh! By the end of a week I had only opted to drink twice and both times were painful. That proved to me that I’m not an alcoholic, I’m a sugarholic…at least right now. Candy is allowed at this stage. What other detox do you know of that allows Sour Patch Kids and gummi bears? My diet plan is the best!
Stage 4: Cut the crap
No more sugar, dairy condiments, etc. Make fresh lemonade by juicing lemons, apples, and raspberries.
Stage 5: Maintenance
Have meat and cocktails on special occasions and cheat days. Try to avoid dairy and gluten.
The lemonade theory for last night was more about making a “mocktail” that tastes good than about health. But I did want to incorporate some health to give me a natural buzz to go with the sugar. I added the super food Acai and raspberries to the frozen lemonade to give it a bougie quality. Without further adieu, the Super Lemonade recipe:
1 can pink or raspberry lemonade from freezer section
1 can original lemonade from freezer section
1 scoop Acai powder
1 package frozen raspberries
Puree Acai powder and frozen raspberries with some distilled water (enough to blend them well without sticking to Nutribullet or blender). Combine Acai/raspberry puree with both cans of frozen lemonade in giant pitcher. Fill to top with distilled water.
Add turmeric and black peppar for anti-inflammatory lemonade
Add cayenne peppar to boost metabolism
Add cinnamon to counteract sugar overload
Add rosemary for cognitive function and extra anti-oxidants
It never ceases to amaze me the soundbites from the grocery bagger kids. This was my first job by the way (ages 14-16, all through the hot Iowa summers and freezing Iowa winters) so I can talk about them like that. No one else can hate on my baggers unless you tip. Then they wouldn’t care…though it’s doubtful any bagger cares about you in the slightest. Also, unfortunately, if you tip they will likely deny it because they’re still pure and they’re told not to accept tips. I wouldn’t accept tips when I was a bagger either. Now I always explain to the kids who bring my groceries out how life works and make them take the tip. It’s always nice seeing the first sparkle of evil in someone’s eyes. Priceless.
Today’s HyVee adventure was marked by me trying to use a mini-cart because I know that I can’t afford any more than what would fit in one. Of course everything is falling out by the time I pull up to checkout. I have yogurts stashed all around Bonnie’s reverse osmosis water and I’m unloading the stuff onto the conveyor belt as the items are passing over the checkout to the bagger. He looks less than enthused about the whole bagging world in general but then notices my mini cart and slowly looks over at the already 8 bags of groceries. He just keeps bagging but doesn’t even attempt putting any bags into the cart that is already pretty much full with just the 5 jugs of reverse osmosis water. So I push the cart up another foot n do kind of a short-down then long-up nod toward it.
I learned this move from Boca by the way. She does that whenever I’m eating so I know that she’s interested in my food. She looks at the food (long stare), then looks at me, then looks at the food. It’s like 4 count, 2 count, 4 count for emphasis. It means that she sees that I have food and that she’s interested in the food and wants me to give it to her. And, in case I’m stupid, she looks at the food again to be sure that she knows that I know.
So I look at the cart and then at the bagger letting him know that I know that he wasn’t able to reach the cart before but now would be able to because I released it to him. And just to give an accurate description of the scene, he has a 1950s-ish haircut which is probably not his fault but that of a lazy Great Clips professional. He seems to be dead inside and is also wearing glasses. I just know exactly how he’s feeling because by this time I’m feeling it too. He starts loading the bags on top of the jugs and they are overflowing so I’m holding the top ones so they don’t fall off. I say something like, “Is this all going to fit?” and he COMPLETELY ignores me. He doesn’t even flinch. It was brilliant. Then I say, as he’s bringing the bag of eggs over, “Are they going to fit?” and he just hands them to me so I have to let go of everything else with my left hand to grab them. Then I just say in a joking fashion to lighten the closing of the situation, “Do you think everything’s going to fall off?”
“I don’t know.”
Total blank stare OJ face. So I’m pulling out and everything’s falling off all over the place and I can’t stop laughing so everyone that sees me starts laughing. I feel that this story is a great example of why we shouldn’t mask our true feelings. Because chances are, if you’re miserable a lot of the rest of us are miserable too. When you realize that you’re not alone you feel a little less miserable. Also it’s nice to make light of a shitty situation like grocery shopping.
I just got home and let Bonnie and Boca eat the rest of the meatloaf to clear out the fridge. They love my cooking. I got little mini ice cream social party cups of ice cream, and gelato and Kemps pumpkin ice cream. So excited about these. I clearly have way too much mental energy right now. I need to go watch a Tina Fey show so I can feel better about myself.
This blog is about preventing cancer in general, not specifically small-cell lung cancer. I have included simple ways that you can avoid ever enduring the invasive horror that many of my relatives have suffered.
Recently my mother was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer. The prognosis was not good and my world kinda fell apart. Well…her world fell apart. This is about her, not me. It affects everyone.
I’ve been researching the connection between environmental factors and gene mutations, as it was discovered that her lung cancer was the result of a gene mutation. What I’m learning is that the consumption of iodine is drastically diminished in modern days (post 1970s) since iodine is not added to foods as it was before. Instead there are harmful additives to food and fluoride added to the water. Without iodine and anti-oxidants to help our healthy cells defeat intruders we cannot flush these (toxins, heavy metals, free radicals) out of our system and they cause reactions within the body.
So what’s the deal with fluoride?
Have you ever heard the term, “There must be something in the water?”
Though fluoride is a blessing when you look at the teeth of some of our European comrades, you should consider that ingesting fluoride on a daily basis is excessive. Absorbing radiation from cell phones, airplanes, towers etc is too. So is exposure to chemicals on our produce, horomones in our meat, and any other toxins/poisons that we are exposed to on a daily basis. We have to combat these and drinking more is just a tipping point in my opinion. That’s the reason for the assault on fluoride. I’d assault cigarettes but she never smoked. It had to be environmental for the gene to mutate, as hers did.
Because water is one of the most essential and highly consumed aspects of our daily exchange, I’m focusing on hazards related to drinking water and how to decrease these. It bothers me that bottled water is in plastic containers. These are toxic and if the water is stored in them in hot warehouses the toxicity increases drastically. Distilled water seems to be the best option from my research because it is deduced to H2O. That’s all it is and adding any other atoms or molecules can cause unexpected reactions.
So what’s my option because I have to drink water?
If you can’t get a filtration system for your home then bottling distilled water from the grocery store yourself is the most controlled way to obtain it. It is distilled on site and the storage is minimal compared to water that has been sitting on the store shelf or in warehouses. I was drinking alkaline water for a long time but the alkaline properties diminish after a few days and you are faced with the same issue of the water sitting in plastic in warehouses and on the shelf.
Quick aside about alkaline water:
This is digressing, but an alkaline body is also ideal for fighting off disease. Poisons make our body acidic. The Kangen water filtration system is amazing. It’s installed in your home and you can adjust the alkalinity of the water to acidic or you can turn it up to 9.5 ph for example. I tried drinking this level of ph when I worked at a Spa in Westwood called Beba Beauty. Your body will start detoxing and you’ll get headaches. If you try alkaline water, ease your way into it. I’ve discovered other ways of alkalizing my body.
How to flush out toxins on a grand scale: Iodine
One of the most important things, it seems, in preventing cancer and other body ailments is simply supplementing iodine into your diet. You can buy it for $4 at Swanson.com or get it from juicing kale or eating seaweed salad. That’s how I used to get it. I am going to try supplementing it now.
EGFR Gene Mutations:
There is also a connection between testosterone levels and small-cell lung cancer. I wonder if the horomonal changes as women get older doesn’t contribute to the onset of cancers involving the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). That is the gene that affects 1/3 of people who develop small-cell lung cancer. The reason for this is that it actually assists the tumor cells in obtaining a blood supply. The tumors then become very powerful and are able to attack healthy cells and convert them. I compare this to gossip. You could have a group of friends and have one toxic “cancerous” friend who starts spreading toxicity to the surrounding friends or cells. Then the cells become toxic themselves and kill off all of the good cells. So then the entire population/body is cancer due to metastasis. This should be avoided by taking gene suppression therapy or by using immunotherapy infusion.

Some people believe that cancer is actually caused by a fungus.
Candida is a fungus that causes minor ailments. On a grander scale it can infect the gut and become a systemic, chronic condition. Whether candida is connected to the secondary onset of cancer (in any form) is something to consider.
Mold is also a common fungus that reproduces through spores that are released into the air. When these are inhaled “toxic mold syndrome” is experienced. This is deadly.
Conspiracy theories about the connection between these common fungi and cancer aside, these two simple extracts have more benefits for overall well-being than anything else I’ve ever researched.

Venus Retrograde Fall 2018 – Starts September 3 with effects being felt through the end of 2018
Venus (my favorite planet) is in retrograde for the rest of the year. While I could do something drastic, I am choosing this time to outsmart it and to look at the situation with the ice cream container half full.
Venus is the planet of beauty and love. When it’s in retrograde everyone looks like crap. Instead of changing your look or starting a new fitness program, try doing the things that you never let yourself do when you have control over your life!
Hate working out? Good. Sit on the couch right now and let your body go back to baseline. Everyone needs a reset at some point just like a computer. That’s what cheat days are about. That’s what you do when you plateau in a workout regimen. You completely change everything up or take time off. A step backward can give you momentum into moving forward further than you’ve ever gone before. It’s like a slingshot. In physics, inertia is a phenomenon where you change nothing so nothing changes. If you do what you always did, you’ll get what you always got. The slinghot scenario is pulling back, such in this case as pulling back on the self control when it comes to overly strict appearance standards, so you can be propelled into maximum velocity in your movement toward your target. Balance is the key to life so you want to hit the ground running when Venus is solidly heading direct again in January. This is the perfect time too since it’s winter and no one cares about your looks that much right now anyway. Get some sweaters and focus on things that are more internal and/or concrete.
I’ve noticed in my personal life, as I look back, that I make huge progress during Venus retrogrades. The last Venus retrograde was in Spring of 2017. You can think back to what was going on during this time. I started a business.
The last Venus retrograde in Scorpio (just like that one that we’re in) was in 2010. Do you remember what was going on in the fall of 2010? Chances are it was a time of growing pains but looking back you may have conquered new territory both figuratively and possibly realistically.

Looking at this chart I had major breakups, meltdowns, moves and career transitions during most of these times.
I’m going to use my move to Los Angeles as an example of how the last Venus in Scorpio worked for me.
I moved to Hollywood in the fall of 2010 and started working at a sound studio. I wasn’t making enough to own a car and my whole life had fallen apart in the year before. I broke up with the love of my life and also transitioned from Las Vegas where I was making huge money to making $12 an hour with no love and looking HORRIBLE. Right after this time, however, I had the time of my life. I met my best girlfriends as an adult during this time as we all struggled in Hollywood.
I became vegan and stopped drinking.
I looked and felt great. I wasn’t driven by jealousy or anger because of my lifestyle. The most wretched fall lead to a much better lifestyle.
Not to get ahead of myself too much, I’m eating a tub of ice cream right now. Venus retrograde is about relishing in your ugliness and doing things that make yourself uglier…because there’s no stopping it. Your plan is to dig yourself out of the ugly hole in January and by summer to be on track with a healthy lifestyle. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
This is great! I am learning so much from the YouTube videos of Josie Grouse. A lot of the things that I’ve discovered on my own over the years I now understand on a deeper level and also feel more in control of these energies after studying her videos so that’s a really good thing for me. For a long time I have felt lost in this world and I’m trying to find my place. It’s difficult being an empath because going out in society is overwhelming. I absorb all of the energy around me and it’s confusing! Nobody seems to know what they want or need. People are not centered and it’s bizarre to me because I feel so confident in this area.
So what is an akashic record as she discusses in the video above?
An akashic record is EVERYTHING you’ve done and also everything that everyone else has done. It’s the push-pull record of the world. The video above is about the experiences that we own that have a bad vibe. If we take these experiences and rebrand them we can change the related karma. An example would be my Facebook. It had such a negative vibe. I couldn’t even stand logging into that site. Yet I own those experiences and they were good experiences. It’s just the creepy Facebook cult that judges them at face value not knowing any of the back story and applying their own biases for understanding. I decided to take ownership back of MY life, and my media. So I’m rebranding here with the real story. With a light story. With the story of my future. When an experience has a negative feeling we can cancel out any related bad karma by making amends on the issue.
The main image for this blog is of me and a girl that I was friends with. She started hooking up with my boyfriend behind my back and it turned into a complete disaster for a whole lot of people. For everyone to fix the karma in this case we would all go on to make better decisions in our future lives. I used to look at this picture and cringe but then I think that she was completely broke at the time and apparently envied my life to the extent that she wanted it for herself. I guess I should be flattered? I just think no one knew what was going on because we were all in our 20s and living in a city where people sell their souls for fame and fortune. What can you expect?
I have noticed that a lot of people do seemingly horrible things yet seem to have all the luck. You have to look at this from a balance perspective. Many people who have established great wealth and power do everything on a grander scale. They have to defeat enemies and secure their fort all day everyday. It’s nonstop. These people also empoly a lot of people, pay taxes that benefit so many, contribute to charity, and often take care of their entire extended families. That is a LOT of good karma. So we have to look at everything from a standpoint of balance. If you have some bad karma built up, make a pact with the universe. If you broke someone’s heart say to the universe, “I am so sorry Universe. I feel deep regret for breaking someone’s heart so I intend to be careful with hearts in the future to restore love to this world. I will not use people and I will do my best to make sure that my actions benefit my own life but also benefit the lives of everyone around me. I will try to get beyond simple desires of the flesh to discover the vast pain that resides within individual souls and do my best to heal what is broken to make the karmic path simpler for everyone on their way back to the unified soul. This will help me when I too return.”
